The City of Kevelaer is located at the Lower Rhine lowlands in Germany,
right in the center of the district of Cleves. The waters
Niers, Dondert,
Kervenheimer, Mühlenfleuth and Issumer Fleuth flow directly
though the
urban area. In the city center you may find the chapel square
with the
Chapel of Mercy, the basilica, the Candle Chapel and the
Confessions
Chapel. Besides these churches there are quite a few pedestrian
precincts
with cafes and restaurants. The almost 100 years old Lower
Rhine "Museum
of Folklore and History of Civilization" stands as the folk
cultural picture
book of the region. In passing it has become a substantial toy
and game
museum when it applied the "Toy and Game Collection Juliane
Metzger".
The City of Kevelaer is the most biggest place of pilgrimage in
Northwest
Europe and officially recognized resort. Nearly 1 Million
pilgrims visit
Kevelaer with its 28.000 inhabitants every year. Grant yourself
a time off
and visit us for some time of relaxation at our oasis.
